SICK has introduced its family of HLG Light Grid Sensors. With high resolution and fast switching speeds, the HLG sensors are suitable for part counting and leading-edge detection on a conveyor.
The HLG units offer a higher resolution than SICK's existing ELG Light Grids, resulting in a much smaller minimum detectable object (MDO) size of 2 mm. The HLG Light Grids are through-beam style switching light grids. They provide a fast and reliable switching output any time one of the beams is blocked.
The new HLG grid is self-sufficient and has no external controller box. All processing is done internally to the light grid, resulting in a fast response time and low cost. The HLG's rugged aluminum housing can withstand punishing industrial environments, while the cable synchronization of the HLG provides quick and easy setup.
The teach-in automatic sensitivity adjustment also allows for detection of translucent objects and wrappings for more precise detection.
