Door Dok-Guardian Safety Barrier

September 1, 2006
No Comments

Studies show that 10 to 25 percent of all industrial accidents occur at or around the loading dock. To address this danger, the Rite-Hite Aftermarket Corp. offers the new Door Dok-Guardian Safety Barrier. The Door Dok-Guardian provides a barrier that stretches across the door to help prevent fork trucks from traveling through closed dock doors.

The Door Dok-Guardian consists of a 6-inch-high heavy-duty nylon strap that is mounted to a Universal GX-4000 bottom sectional door panel. It travels with the door when it is opened or closed. When the dock door is closed, the heavy-duty strapping and steel impact brackets slide into Warden door guards and provide a yellow visible barrier that can stop a 10,000-pound fork truck traveling at 3 to 4 mph.

The safety yellow painted steel Warden door guards are made of 1/4-inch steel and are positioned in front of the sectional door tracks to help minimize door track damage. When the door is hit, the heavy-duty strap absorbs the impact and the force is transferred to the steel Wardens, preventing a serious loading dock accident. The barrier system can be retrofitted to most sectional doors.

Ocean Sector Shaping the Next Shipageddon

DCV-TV 4: Viewer Contributed
If you're a shipper, it's never good when a rep for an ocean carrier tells you, "You better sit down before you read this."
