Cloud Logistics Announced Record Revenue in First Half of 2017

July 19, 2017
No Comments

Cloud Logistics experienced a record first half of the year, tripling revenue for the same period last year. In addition to revenue, metrics were up significantly across all aspects of the business.

"Shippers and 3PLs from across all industries continue to select and rapidly deploy Cloud Logistics," said Mark Nix, founder and CEO of Cloud Logistics. "As our customer base and reputation continue to grow, more and larger companies are choosing our innovative technology to manage their transportation. So far this year, three $10B+ companies have implemented our TMS."

In this past year, other key metrics confirm the rapid pace of growth of the company's solution and market share. For instance, overall network volume has nearly doubled. Likewise, the number of carriers on the Cloud Logistics network has more than doubled. With large-scale roll-outs underway with industry leaders in building products, commodities, and retail, the carrier network is expected to double in size once again before the end of 2017.

The key to supporting this growth is the addition of talented new team members. Overall headcount for Cloud Logistics has increased roughly 50 percent from this time last year. Cloud Logistics has added both experienced implementation leaders from competitive TMS providers, as well as many of the leading developers and contributors in the Ruby-on-Rails community.

Over the last twelve months, spot market prices have been generally favorable for shippers. Accordingly, Cloud Logistics' customers have been able to take advantage of these rates regularly by using the software's highly intuitive spot quote functionality. During the first half of 2017, spot quote utilization increased more than 150 percent. Customers of DAT's RateView benchmark data service can leverage this information for decision support during the spot quote process via the TMS' recently certified integration with DAT.

One of Cloud Logistics' strategic capabilities that set it apart from competitive solutions in the marketplace is the integration of social networking directly into the application. The cover article in the July 2017 issue of American Shipper focuses on this ability. "Solutions like those provided by Cloud Logistics are at the fore-front of in-system communications as real-time collaboration tools," offers Eric Johnson, Research Director of American Shipper. As part of its pursuit of next generation functionality for the TMS ecosystem, Cloud Logistics is optimistic about the partnership with Konexial, as they deliver their new My20 ELD carrier compliance and GoLoad matching solutions to the carrier and shipper communities. As previously announced, Cloud Logistics is Konexial's technology partner and plays a pivotal role in the delivery of these solutions. With the ELD mandate in December and the expected capacity constraints in truckload shipping over the next 12 months, network volume and carrier participation should grow considerably in parallel.

Cloud Logistics will be exhibiting at the upcoming Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) EDGE conference in Atlanta on September 24-27. Solutions and demonstrations can be seen in booth 411.
