PHILADELPHIA (June 29, 2017) — BDP International (BDP), a leading privately owned global logistics and transportation solutions company, has opened a new office in Paita, Peru.
The Paita facility marks BDP's second location in Peru - joining its Lima office which opened in December 2016 - and brings the Philadelphia-based company's global presence to 144 offices in 36 countries, serving more than 134 countries via the BDP network. Earlier today, they announced two new openings in India (Hyderabad and Baroda), which can be read about here: https://www.bdpinternational.com/news-advisories-events/press-releases/bdp-international-expands-indian-presence-new-offices-hyderabad-baroda/
Paita is the main port in northern Peru, and one of the largest in the country. Import and export is centered around general cargo, with an emphasis on fishing and agricultural products.
"Peru's main trading partners in South America, primarily Brazil, Colombia and Chile are interested in taking advantage of BDP's International purchase order management services at a regional and global level," said Hector Midolo, BDP's Managing Director, Latin America. "As we strengthen our presence in South America, customers in these markets have seen the advantage to partnering with BDP in expertise, technology and customer service, so we are excited to be able to expand and offer these capabilities on a wider scale."
The Paita office is located in the port's Neptunia facility, and plans to initially export approximately 100 containers monthly to global destinations. Operations will be overseen by Jose Olivares, Peru's Country Operations Manager.
