Third-party logistics firm Symbia Logistics has closed on three acquisitions from earlier this year, the company said December 11.
Edwards, Colo.-based Symbia has acquired Mountain States Logistics, Innovative Fulfillment Solutions and Nevada Distribution Services, and said it will open a "state-of-the-art" e-commerce fulfillment operation in Aurora, Colo., in January.
Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Symbia acquired Denver-based Mountain States Logistics in April, adding to its rail-to-truck capabilities, the company said. The firm followed that with the purchase of Kansas City, Mo.-based Innovative Fulfillment Solutions, expanding its third-party fulfillment services to customers worldwide. Most recently, Symbia acquired Nevada Distribution Services, Reno, Nev., which provides supply chain, warehousing and logistics management solutions to business-to-business and business-to-consumer industries.
Family-owned and operated Symbia Logistics plans to continue to grow by acquisition, according to CEO Megan Smith.
"When you consider our expanded capabilities as a result of these three transactions, add in the high-tech solutions in our Aurora facility, and combine that with our plans to continue growing through strategic acquisitions, the future for Symbia is extremely exciting," Smith said in a statement announcing the deals. "We have become a major 3PL player for companies looking for the broad capabilities of Amazon but with the high-touch customer service that only a family-owned business can provide."
