Competition is a natural part of business, and it can be stressful. But it sounds like if you're a student of packaging design, it could also be a lot of fun.
In February, the Institute of Packaging Professionals' (IoPP) Southeastern Chapter will hold its fourth annual "48 Hour Re-Pack" student packaging design competition. The competition will kick off Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. and will end 48 hours later, on Feb. 24. During that time, entrants will develop and design product packaging, build a model, and film a presentation in which they explain and "sell" their design.
The annual event was created as a forum to expose talented students to the packaging industry, said IoPP Southeastern Chapter president Paul Spitale. Winners will receive cash prizes and recognition at the 2013 Nextpack Summit on the Future of Packaging in Atlanta.
The registration deadline for the 2013 competition is Feb. 20. For more about the event and to see previous winners, go to www.48hrrepack.com.
