For executives interested in getting started with benchmarking, the upcoming "Benchmark Now!" seminar offers a rare chance to both learn the basics and get a jump on their own projects. Offered by the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC), the seminar teaches participants how to benchmark their operation's performance against best practices and use what they learn to reach their organization's goals. Participants are encouraged to bring actual company data so that they can assess their operation's performance at the seminar and walk away with a strategic performance roadmap based on the results.
Instructors Kate Vitasek of Supply Chain Visions and Karl Manrodt of Georgia Southern University will provide a framework for benchmarking and discuss techniques for communicating the results to drive improvements. The course will also outline where to go for benchmarking data, how to link benchmarking to strategy, how to choose the right metrics, and how to set benchmark targets.
The seminar will take place from Oct. 3-4 in Oak Brook, Ill. For more information, visit www.werc.org.
