Nordstrom taps Beabout, industry veteran, to be executive VP of supply chain
Executive had high-level posts with Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Office Depot.
Apparel retailer Nordstrom Inc. said today it has hired industry veteran Brent Beabout to the new post of executive vice president, supply chain, supporting the Seattle-based company's brick-and-mortar and online supply chain operations.
Beabout will join Nordstrom on April 3, the company said.
Beabout spent three years as senior vice president, e-commerce supply chain, for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and its Sam's Club ecommerce operations. Prior to that, he spent five years at the Office Depot Inc. office supply company as its senior vice president of supply chain, overseeing more than 1,100 stores.
Before that, Beabout was vice president of engineering at express carrier DHL Express, as well as director of operations at e-tailer at Amazon.com Inc., where he oversaw the design and construction of Amazon's physical distribution infrastructure.
