MINNEAPOLIS and CLEVELAND - September 28, 2016 — PeopleNet® (www.peoplenetonline.com), a Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) Company and leading provider of fleet mobility technology, and TMW Systems (www.tmwsystems.com), a Trimble Company and leading provider of transportation management software, today announced the winners of their 2016 Innovator of the Year awards.

The recipients were announced at the 2016 in.sight User Conference // Expo in Nashville, jointly hosted by PeopleNet and TMW Systems. The awards recognize customers of each company who have best leveraged technology through innovations in integration, custom-tailored applications, process implementation, training methods and more.

"As PeopleNet and TMW come together for our inaugural in.sight conference, it is imperative to highlight our exceptionally innovative customers," said Rick Ochsendorf, Executive Vice President - Customer for PeopleNet. "This year's recipients demonstrate the full potential of using technology to improve safety and performance in the transportation industry."

In addition to recognizing PeopleNet and TMW-specific winners, a joint award was given to Solar Transport. Deploying technology solutions from both companies, Solar Transport has improved fuel economy, reduced order entry updates and enhanced driver safety through speed monitoring.

"Each TMW and PeopleNet Innovator of the Year achieved measurable business value through creative use of our solutions," said Keith Mader, Senior Vice President - Enterprise Architecture for TMW. "These innovative companies are delivering real world improvements for drivers, executives, dispatchers, driver managers, back office personnel, system administrators and more. Transportation is very much a people oriented business, and each of these winners delivers for their people."

Following customer nominations and testimonials, winners were selected in the following categories:

PeopleNet:
• Tier 1 (Less than 100 vehicles): OrTran Express
Through auto dispatch, improved trip preplanning and better communication, OrTran achieved increased levels of driver satisfaction.

• Tier 2 (100 to 500 vehicles): Solar Transport
Solar Transport improved fuel economy by nearly 13 percent, which resulted in a savings of $250,000.

• Tier 3 (more than 500 vehicles): DOT Transportation
DOT Transportation used PeopleNet's engine data to develop a safety predictive analytics tool, which enabled them to decrease on-road accidents by 47 percent. This tool helped to reduce DOT's CSA score by 50 percent, bringing it to the lowest level in the company's history.

• Canadian Fleets: Grimshaw Trucking
Grimshaw created productivity measures that resulted in savings in excess of $304,000. Grimshaw scores each driver action and identifies patterns across their fleet, including lane, route and daily activity trends.

TMW Systems:
• Truckload: OrTran Express
Utilizing TMT Fleet Maintenance™ software led to a decrease in cost-per-mile by $.09 per mile.

• Non-Asset: Liquid Freight
In addition to using TMW for dispatch software, Liquid Freight created a pipeline between their website and TMW's database to allow carriers to input their own load information and complete their loads.

• Less-Than-Truckload, Intermodal and Specialty: Grimshaw Trucking
TMW technology allows for better productivity monitoring, which enabled Grimshaw to reduce its trip count by one trip per day.

• Energy: Western Refining, Inc.
With the implementation of TMW Fuel Dispatch, Western Refining centralized its fuel dispatch operation, producing a yearly cost savings of more than $1.1 million.

• Maintenance: Master Fleet
The use of the TMT Fleet Maintenance™ software allowed Master Fleet to improve customer relationships, increase efficiencies of internal processes and ensure proper invoice delivery.

• Private Fleet: Nebraska Furniture Mart
Nebraska Furniture Mart harnessed Appian software to improve their distribution efficiency and customer service while also cutting down on out-of-route miles and planning time.

• Business Intelligence: Royal Trucking Company
The TMWSuite® improved Royal's document workflows, fuel management and fleet operations. The implementation of these new business management tools enables Royal to continue to grow and maintain future stability and success.

The Innovators of the Year also participated in panel discussions at in.sight, giving attendees an opportunity to learn more about how to better harness technology to increase efficiencies, lower costs and improve safety. Over the last several months, I’ve given many presentations about the events and potential changes impacting supply chains.
