Logistics solutions provider Knapp AG will expand its North American headquarters in Georgia, adding 150 employees to handle growing business demand for its automated warehousing and distribution solutions, the company announced today.

Knapp has purchased a new building adjacent to its current location in Kennesaw, Ga., and will renovate the 50,000-square-foot facility, with plans to complete the work in the fall of 2018, Knapp said.

The new building will provide space for the increased workforce, as well as hosting technology demonstrations, a showroom, and training facilities. Visitors to the showroom and demonstration facilities will see an array of developments in vision technologies, robotics, virtual reality, driverless shuttles, and software, the company said.

Most of the new employees will work in the areas of mechanical and electrical engineering, system design engineering, software, project management, sales, and administration, Knapp Vice President of Operations Gernot Rupp said in a release.
