FedEx has launched Electronic Trade Documents (ETD), a solution that allows shippers to upload their international shipment documentation electronically. Activated across multiple automated shipping systems, ETD helps customers save time and money while reducing their carbon footprint. ETD can also be used with FedEx Ground international shipments to and from Canada.
The new solution automates the preparation and flow of international documents, which ensures customers' international shipment documentation arrives earlier for broker review and streamlines customs clearance by providing more time to identify and resolve any paperwork errors. ETD also eliminates the need for manual paperwork, thereby reducing the risk of lost, missing, or damaged paperwork, and promotes sustainability by reducing paper waste.
One of ETD's unique features is the ability for customers to upload their own trade documents, the carrier says. The solution also allows customers to upload company letterhead and signature images to trade documents created online from FedEx tools and templates.
