Dynamic Logistic Systems (DLS) has improved its Order Release Module (ORM), a compact, automatic case-pick dispenser for grocery distribution. The ORM dispenser is designed to hold buffer inventory until that inventory is needed for orders. It then automatically replenishes itself and dispenses cases at high speed in any sequence required.
One result of the improvements is that the pushers that replenish the lanes are now able to push in two directions. The lanes can also be placed back to back with a central replenishment conveyor and a self-positioning two-way pusher. The lanes now measure 20 feet, compared to 34 feet in the earlier models. Although this means that a few more lanes may be required for fast-movers, higher usage per lane actually reduces costs. By doubling the number of lanes in a module, more products can be held within one module so family groups can be handled together.
