SICK adds damage detection for tilt tray wheels

By DC Velocity Staff

SICK, a manufacturer of sensors, safety systems, machine vision, and automatic identification solutions, has introduced a new applications for its Inspector Vision Sensor. Mounted under a conveyor or sorter, it can be used to detect damaged or missing wheels. The company says detecting damaged or missing wheels on tilt tray sorters can prevent jams, damage to the track, and heat buildup that could result in fire. The detector, which works while the sorter is moving, can replace manual inspection.
