CFI Recognized as Top Safety Performer by Truckload Carriers Association

January 23, 2020
No Comments

JOPLIN, MO - January 23, 2020 - CFI, an operating company of TFI International Inc. (TSX: TFII, OTCQX: TFIFF), a North American leader in the transportation and logistics industry, has been recognized for superior safety performance by the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) in its 44th annual Fleet Safety Awards competition.

CFI was honored by the Association for "an unparalleled commitment to safety," among qualified truckload carriers in the Division 6 category, which covers those who have amassed 100 million or more miles of operations in North America during the year. Carriers are measured on their accident frequency rate per million miles driven, and CFI achieved the lowest accident frequency rate for U.S. carriers in Division 6 for 2019.

"For yet another year, TCA is honored to present the Fleet Safety Awards to our members who continually prioritize safety in their operations," said TCA President John Lyboldt. "These awards showcase the best of our industry and set these carriers apart as truly maintaining the gold standard when it comes to protecting their drivers, their loads, their equipment and the greater motoring public."

Greg Orr, president of CFI, credited the achievement to the dedication, talent and experience of the company's safety and operations teams, and the perseverance of its professional drivers.

"It takes a tremendous amount of skill and concentration to safely operate a Class 8 commercial truck and 53-foot trailer in today's challenging environment," noted Orr. "This award is a real testament to the commitment of our professional drivers, their supporting safety and operations colleagues, and our everyday collective effort to make safety the top priority."

CFI deploys some 2,025 professional drivers operating a fleet of 1,875 tractors and 7,310, 53-foot dry van trailers operating throughout the U.S. and Canada, with cross-border service to Mexico. For additional capacity, the company also contracts with 300 owner operators.

In 2019, CFI amassed more than 232 million miles delivering freight in North America, serving some of the nation's leading commercial, industrial, manufacturing and retail businesses.
