Kuehne + Nagel has increased the number of connections for its long-haul shuttles within China. Between Shanghai and Tianjin, the company offers scheduled departures from both locations three times a week. A second connection also now runs three times a week between Shanghai and Guangzhou.
These services are offered using Kuehne + Nagel's own hub and spoke network. They feature door-to-door services, direct pick-ups and deliveries, guaranteed departures, reliable lead times, and POD (proof of delivery) management. Depending on specific customer requirements, Kuehne + Nagel also provides a variety of ad-hoc features and value-added services, such as pick and pack operations, labeling and consolidation, as well as cargo insurance. Using GPS technology, customers have full visibility along the entire supply chain. By the end of 2011, eight depots will be established at the strategic locations in Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Beijing, Xiamen, Chengdu, and Wuhan, enabling Kuehne + Nagel to offer a total of 20 links.
Kuehne + Nagel is also steadily extending its office network in China. Recently, new branches were opened in Fuzhou, Wuxi, Zhengzhou, Taicang, Yangzhou, and Yinchuan. In all areas of the country, Kuehne + Nagel provides a comprehensive portfolio of services, including international sea and air logistics, contract logistics, industry- specific solutions, road logistics, and distribution services.
