8515 Vehicle-Mount computer

Psion Teklogix offers its new 8515 Vehicle-Mount computer. This full-featured computer comes in a compact, lightweight frame and is suited for vehicles with limited mounting options. The computer provides top functionality on a forklift, in a warehouse, at a port, or as a stationary terminal on a fixed mount application, such as a facility floor data collection terminal. With its small footprint, the 8515 provides maximum unobstructed visibility for forklift operators without compromising durability. It features a sharp 640 x 480 full-screen VGA color display that supports virtually any application. The bright, touch-sensitive display is readable in most lighting conditions.

The Windows Embedded CE 5-based 8515 comes with an XScale processor, 802.11 technologies, and Bluetooth. It is also equipped with a full PC-style alphanumeric keyboard and 10 dedicated function keys, allowing for flexible and accurate data entry. Serial RS232, two USB host ports, and one USB device port allow easy connection to a large range of peripherals, such as bar-code scanners, printers, and RFID readers.

The 8515 offers optional features, such as Psion Teklogix Mobile Control Center (MCC). MCC software enables the deployment and ongoing management of mobile devices and their peripherals remotely and securely. The 8515 also provides a speaker/microphone to support convenient push-to-talk technology that together with PTX Connect, a platform that enables rich multimedia communications, replace a Walkie-Talkie by using Voice-Over-IP technology.

Ocean Sector Shaping the Next Shipageddon

DCV-TV 4: Viewer Contributed
If you're a shipper, it's never good when a rep for an ocean carrier tells you, "You better sit down before you read this."
