Escort Memory Systems, a company that provides industrial RFID solutions, offers a new RFID antenna/reader. The HS500E offers single-point, high-speed access to industrial and commercial broadband networks. Users can write up to 32 kilobytes of data onto their RFID tags in seconds. The antenna/reader supports three high-speed protocols, including Ethernet TCP/IP, Ethernet IP and Modbus TCP. The product works with the HS series of 32 kb active tags. The combination of the tags and HS500E units allows up to 4.4 inches of read/write range with a tag battery life of over five years in a heavy-use environment. The compact size, less than 5 by 3 inches, makes the antenna/reader ideal for fitting into tight spaces.
