INTELLI-Cart System

Cannon Equipment now offers radio-frequency identification (RFID) capabilities for carts, cart loaders and pallet systems to help manufacturers and distributors keep track of finished product. The Cannon INTELLI-Cart System has been implemented in the newspaper industry for the past six months, but it can also be used for dairy, automotive, nursery, luggage handling, medical and postal applications.

The Cannon system meshes INTELLI-Cart into its COMET cart loader control software, using an RFID reader placed on each loader and at each production and distribution center dock door. The reader, in turn, captures information from RFID tags attached to each cart and reports the cart's location and content. This information can then be up-loaded into a customer's operating software.
