TOYOTA FORKLIFT ROLLS OUT ONLINE HAND PALLET TRUCK SALES

TOYOTA FORKLIFT ROLLS OUT ONLINE HAND PALLET TRUCK SALES

COLUMBUS, Ind. - (April 30, 2018) - Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A. (TMHU) has announced the launch of an eCommerce website for equipment sales. Toyota Forklifts, the number one forklift manufacturer in North America, began selling hand pallet trucks (HPT) online in the first quarter of the year. Toyota launched the site to meet the evolving needs of customers who prefer to interact and transact online. Once the customer checks out online, the local dealer fulfills the order in four business days or less and each order includes free assembly and delivery. HPT eCommerce is TMHU's first step in building a complete eCommerce store to support Toyota forklift customers.

With a capacity of 5,500 pounds, Toyota's HPT is ideal for short-run applications and provides an economical solution to Toyota customers. The HPT fits retail and general warehousing but also serves applications like cold storage, since it lacks the complexities of electrical wiring and battery maintenance. The HPTs come standard with a low-profile construction, 180° steering arc, low rolling resistance and single-load wheels with entry/exit rollers to offer excellent maneuverability for maximum performance and productivity.

"This website is the first step for our teams to provide material handling solutions in an eCommerce environment," said Steve Tadd, TMHU director of marketing and information technology. "The hand pallet jacks online offering is a great opportunity to work alongside dealers to provide our customers with the products they need in a channel that is easy to use and open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year."

Toyota's eCommerce website was developed by partners Deloitte Digital and Blackstone Media.

"Our longtime web partner, Blackstone Media, managed the entire user interface, while another longtime partner and industry leader, Deloitte, developed back-end capabilities to support our desired user experience," Tadd said. "For credit card authorization and captures, we worked with Chase."
