Lineage Logistics LLC, an international temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics company, said today it has acquired warehouses south of downtown Los Angeles from U.S. Growers Cold Storage. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
The eight facilities, which are spread out over several contiguous city blocks, encompass more than 12 million cubic feet of capacity, Lineage said. They are near the 250,000-square-foot transloading facility that Lineage operates in the Port of Long Beach's "overweight corridor," a corridor designed for trucks that are pulling overweight containers.
In addition, Lineage said it would continue Growers' existing expansion plans to add over 25,000 pallet positions to its capacity over two phases. The initial phase is targeted for completion in May 2018.
The Growers acquisition comes on the heels of Lineage's acquisition of cold storage facilities in Louisville, Ky. and Booneville, Ind. from American Cold Storage. The facilities add over 8 million cubic feet of capacity to Lineage's facility network.
Based in Novi, Mich., Lineage is owned by Bay Grove LLC, a San Francisco-based private equity firm.
