Buckhorn Inc., a provider of reusable plastic packaging systems, has rolled out a class of pallet-sized, collapsible containers featuring an integrated pallet and lid system.
The line, called "Maximizer," is being touted by the company as an alternative for corrugated bulk container, especially for shipping and storing light-duty dry goods.
"More and more companies are demanding a lean, sustainable, cost-effective solution to replace cardboard in their operations, said Mike Thomas, Buckhorn's new product development manager.
Unlike short-lived corrugated bulk containers that are awkward to assemble and knockdown, the Maximizer can be constructed by one person and be reused hundreds of times, according to Buckhorn. The material is made from durable, moisture-resistant plastic and can be stored indoors or outdoors. The Maximizer has dimensions of 48 inches x 40 inches x 41 inches and can hold up to 1,000 pounds. It weighs approximately 30 percent less than traditional plastic bulk boxes and can be stacked three high for added storage space. One assembled unit can store eight collapsed containers inside.
