Self-driving vehicle provider Otto Motors, a division of Clearpath Robotics Inc., announced a redesign of its Otto 100 self-driving vehicle. The vehicle now features all-metal construction to meet the rigors of industrial environments and a two-inch integrated lift for automated loading and unloading.
Otto Motors also released a software platform called Otto M. The software enables Industry 4.0 capability and connects Otto self-driving vehicles with the material flow in a production line. The Otto M platform also houses an intuitive route-mapping interface for the vehicles and offers a standard application programming interface (API) for integration with systems like enterprise resource planning (ERP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES), helping to orchestrate complex automation with existing enterprise software.
Finally, Otto announced a Test Drive program, a plan to bring its vehicles to customer facilities in order to demonstrate their ability in the potential users' DCs.
