Knapp, the Austrian warehouse and distribution center automation provider, had its latest products on the show floor at ProMat 2015 in Chicago on Monday.
The company's newest pick station features the capability to read both source codes and product codes, a good match for tough sorting jobs where workers must rearrange a series of items such as books, fashion apparel, grocery items, or hardware units, said Roland Koholka, Knapp's chief technology officer.
At this pick station, workers standing on an adjustable ergonomic platform receive a flow of new items from shuttles so they can handle overstock and frequent shelving demands.
Knapp shuttle models at the show included the smallest OSR-15 as well as the OSR-32, featuring a sliding plate, and the OSR-35B, which is designed to accommodate box loads.
