At the Honeywell Intelligrated press conference Tuesday, the main focus was on the company's newest software platform, the Momentum warehouse execution system (WES), which is designed to streamline and simplify complex e-commerce fulfillment operations.
The Momentum warehouse execution system brings together automated equipment, workflows, orders, and labor in a unified platform to provide distribution center operators with real-time visibility and help make operations more efficient.
During a demonstration of the system, Sean Wallingford, the company's vice president of product management, showed off Momentum's capabilities, highlighting the intelligent order release, automated chute closing, and just-in-time put-wall allocation functions.
Momentum is an enterprise software platform that provides distribution centers with a single centralized system to manage operations like automated order picking, product routing, inventory, and labor. The software is scalable and configurable, allowing customers to select from an ever-expanding list of robust modules.
Honeywell Intelligrated is part of Honeywell's Safety and Productivity Solutions business group, which provides a range of hardware and software solutions for distribution centers, transportation and logistics providers, retailers, direct-store delivery firms, and parcel service companies.
