Hydrogen fuel cell provider Nuvera touts synergies with parent Hyster-Yale

By DC Velocity Staff

At a press conference on day 2 of Modex, Nuvera Fuel Cells CEO Jon Taylor and Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Warren Brower gave reporters the rundown on the many advantages of hydrogen fuel cells as a power source for forklifts, such as hydrogen's lack of harmful emissions, fast fueling time, and economic benefits. Part two of their presentation focused on their own company's plans, including developing fuel cells for parent company Hyster-Yale Materials Handling's forklifts. According to Taylor, plans include eventually providing fuel cells designed for Hyster's and Yale's full line of trucks, from powered pallet jacks all the way to Hyster's monster container reach stackers. (The company also provides fuel cells for other lift truck manufacturers equipment.) Taylor added that Nuvera plans to take full advantage of the support provided by Yale's service, sales, and manufacturing organizations and expertise. In his view, having access to those resources will be a significant factor in the expansion of the company's customer base.
