Dematic, a supplier of logistics systems for the factory, warehouse, and distribution center, is rolling out a new technology to enable customers to manage their businesses remotely. The company recently introduced the Dematic Mobile Monitor, a software application for monitoring and controlling warehouse and distribution operations from a smart phone or tablet.
The Mobile Monitor allows users to remotely access real-time operational data via their mobile device even from off-site locations. The application enables operations and maintenance personnel to view both material handling system and operational statuses to quickly evaluate and improve conditions that affect performance.
The application's interactive dashboards provide insight into key performance indicators, work progress, and labor statistics for warehouse areas from receiving to shipping. Users can see current performance, statistics, and resources for a particular area.
The Mobile Monitor's DC View visualization interface lets users quickly observe the facility layout from a bird's eye view. Interactive markers display identification information, progress, and views into real-time operations with a simple touch. Pinch gestures allow users to zoom in and out of areas for greater detail.
The goal of Mobile Monitor is to help users make decisions that can improve operations. The Mobile Monitor provides valuable warehouse information in a way that makes it easier for manager to access performance metrics and alerts quickly and make the decisions needed to maintain optimal operations. The application can save travel time for managers, allowing them to spend more time working one-on-one with employees.
Mobile Monitor is built upon Dematic's existing software platform and uses a simple Wi-Fi connection. Dematic says that Mobile Monitor has an intuitive interface that is simple to understand and easy to use.
