Frommelt Products Corp., a division of Rite-Hite Corp., has introduced the Insulator Dock Seal with Light-Blocking Header. Frommelt claims that it is the most durable dock seal available and the first one with a header that effectively seals small gaps caused by trailer protrusions.
The dock seal header seals the top of the trailer to the dock. The seal, however, can be broken by door latches and other protrusion at the top rear of the trailer, resulting in air gaps that could let dust, bugs, or other contaminants enter the facility. Frommelt's Insulator Dock Seal features rows of layered, horizontal pleats that conform around these protrusions as the trailer backs in, improving the seal.
The Insulator Dock Seal also includes features that protect against wear and tear, lengthening the life of the seal. For example, all trailer and forklift contact surfaces are reinforced with high-strength Durathon fabric over a flexible vinyl base fabric. Durathon's pebble-grained coating creates a friction-resistant surface that trailers slide against rather than abrade.
The Insulator's corners are also reinforced with layers of Durathon fabric and flexible high-molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) sheeting for resistance to damage. These components are attached with industrial-strength Velcro so they can be easily replaced and maintained at low cost.
