MicroZone and OutRunner Spiral conveyors

September 23, 2010
No Comments

SpanTech has unveiled two conveyors, the MicroZone and the OutRunner Spiral. The MicroZone conveyor is a new 24-volt, low-profile, zero pressure accumulation conveyor system. Each standard 300mm by 300mm zone is individually driven by a 24 volt "pancake" motor. Shaft-mounted sprockets engage with the 5 mm pitch MicroSpan plastic chain for positive tracking.

Unlike traditional side frame designs, each MicroZone unit is made from a two-piece fabricated assembly. The drive, sprocket, belt, and end roller assembly can be removed or replaced in seconds. MicroZone units are individually bolted together to form a modular conveyor system for maximum design flexibility, making it suitable for kitting, assembly, order fulfillment, and returns applications. The conveyor can be installed overhead or floor-mounted on casters. Optional automated transfer devices are available.

The OutRunner Spiral is a drum-less powered incline/decline spiral. Although the device is driven by a single gear motor, each 360-degree revolution is individually driven. This design allows each tier to share the load, providing flexibility in loads, speeds, and incline angles. Customers can choose from a wide range of configurations.

"With Freight Rates More Stable, Why Do My Freight Costs Keep Going Up?"

DCV-TV 4: Viewer Contributed
Lately people have been asking me a pressing question: “Mike, if there’s a freight recession headed our way, shouldn’t we be seeing freight rates and our freight costs going down?” Ideally the answer to that question would just simply be “yes”. However, these are not simple times. Which is why the answer to this...
