Denso ADC announces the latest addition to its BHT-700 series of wireless handheld bar-code terminals. The new BHT-710BWB-WM 1-D bar-code scanner terminal is a robust mobile computer that features the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. Its smart-device capabilities allow the unit to be used in a wide variety of mobile applications, such as field operations, transportation and logistics, retail, and manufacturing.
The new terminal also features a fast, 624 MHz processor and 128 MB of RAM, which speeds up work, as well as both Bluetooth and high-security WLAN (802.11a/b/g) wireless coverage. It provides up to 12 hours of continuous wireless communication from a single battery.
The terminal's advanced image-scanning software ensures reliable reading of high-density or poorly printed bar codes, while its large depth of field and rapid-response scanning capabilities improve operator accuracy. A drop-resistant magnesium-alloy frame, which has been tested to survive a five-foot drop, gives the device a high degree of durability.
Other user-friendly features include a 3.5-inch QVGA color LCD touch screen and high-speed display graphics that make it easy to view large amounts of information, increasing user efficiency; a slim, lightweight design, to reduce operator fatigue; convenient one-hand scanning operation; and VoIP voice control, which supports voice picking.
