In the past, when a lift truck operator ran into problems unloading a truck because the forks barely reached under the pallet that needed to be removed, he or she didn't have a lot of options. Typically, someone would climb onto the truck to help push, pull, or pry the pallet off the truck bed or a chain would be used to drag the item off of the truck.
A new product called ForkGrips is designed to solve this problem. The device, which can be slipped onto the ends of the forks in seconds, allows cargo to be dragged closer to the edge of the truck using just the tips of the forks. With the cargo closer, the forklift is then able to reach safely under the load to easily remove it from the truck.
ForkGrips can be stored next to the driver's seat or on the truck bed for easy access. Then when needed, they can be placed around the ends of the forks. They fit all standard forks up to six inches wide.
Using ForkGrips eliminates the need to wait for chains or straps to be wrapped around the cargo so it can be dragged closer. And since chains and straps are no longer wrapping the product, the chances of damage are greatly reduced. ForkGrips also reduce potential injuries to lift truck drivers and other employees from falling loads.
