NorthStar unmanned battery-changing system

Sackett Systems has unveiled the advanced NorthStar unmanned battery-changing system. This system can automatically change a battery in one minute or less, using Sackett's Super-Xchanger battery change-out unit. The NorthStar System accomplishes this by separating the Super-Xchanger from its battery storage and retrieval system.

The NorthStar System uses HK Systems' HK3000/RF Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) to store discharged batteries and retrieve charged batteries. This storage and retrieval system can safely store batteries 10 high and requires less than 60 feet of ceiling height. It uses laser-distance measurements to precisely move and position each battery and then maps the battery's location. With its modular design, the NorthStar System can be easily configured to any building's requirements. The NorthStar System coordinates with the integrated Guardian Battery Management System for optimized battery rotation and improved battery performance.
