In tests, SmartMark durable RFID tags from William Frick Co. have been successfully read even when they were buried in concrete and cement. This means that the tags can be used to track and identify a wide variety of concrete products, including retaining walls, highway barriers, bridge components, and other pre-formed concrete items. The embedded SmartMark RFID tags allow tracking of different admixtures and regional formulas. They eliminate the need for handwritten and vulnerable paper tags. With them, engineers and construction personnel can now quickly track inventory and identify different materials that are similar in appearance.
With more than 35 designs available, the SmartMark series includes RFID tags for almost any application, including tags that offer improved efficiency and tighter security at U.S. ports, airports, and rail yards.
