Maya wireless and GPS hardware solutions

September 1, 2007
No Comments

As much as 50 percent of the information managers typically receive from a global positioning system (GPS) isn't precisely what they need. In other words, users are paying higher transmission costs than necessary. To address this problem, NovaTracker has created the Maya, an intelligent generation of highly customizable wireless and GPS hardware solutions. These solutions are powered by a proprietary technology that integrates easily with most vehicle-tracking software.

The Maya is a versatile and reliable in-vehicle data hub that is GPSequipped and is capable of operating in the global system for mobile communications (GSM). Engineered specifically for the fleet-tracking industry, Maya offers the ability to transmit customer-specified, highly relevant information with as many as 16 different variables.

By using the NovaTracker's proprietary intelligent technology as a platform, Maya becomes an in-vehicle network hub. The unit is capable of providing a large range of data types, such as location reporting and vehicle status as well as a wide variety of event codes, including geo-fence violation. Because the user can specify the information to be sent, only desired data are transmitted, which saves time and money.

Maya's simplicity and compactness allow it to be deployed quickly, using minimal space. It is easily installed and integrated with the customer's existing Web-enabled routing and scheduling application software to enhance fleet management, routing, tracking, and dispatching capabilities by giving users essential functionality through route verification, real-time vehicle tracking, and invehicle communications.

The Maya is equipped with two digital input channels and one analog input channel. Options include Bluetooth and USB I/O.

Ocean Sector Shaping the Next Shipageddon

DCV-TV 4: Viewer Contributed
If you're a shipper, it's never good when a rep for an ocean carrier tells you, "You better sit down before you read this."
