LeanLogistics, a supplier of Web-native transportation management systems, has released Revision 4.6 of its flagship software, On-Demand TMS. This latest release adds new supplier inbound management functionality that allows LeanLogistics' customers to actively manage their inbound shipment processes from purchase order creation through proof of delivery. Users can collaborate with their suppliers and carriers to implement the ready-to-ship process.
By using the On-Demand TMS Supplier Inbound module, the customer gains access to the information it needs to plan and control the shipment. The supplier provides key information, including the date that the shipment will be available for pickup, the ship-from location, and the shipment content. This information enables companies to control their inbound shipment process, optimizing the overall shipment plan, assigning their core carriers, managing those carriers, and scheduling pickups and deliveries. All parties, including buyers, suppliers, customer service, operations, and other interested parties, can have complete visibility into both purchase orders and shipments.
Actively managing inbound shipments allows companies to: increase lead time dependability and eliminate variance. They can also reduce both inventory and out-of-stocks, increase reaction time to incomplete or late orders and shipments, and shorten order/shipment cycle times.
