SICK, a manufacturer of sensors, safety systems and automatic identification products for industrial automation, announces the launch of the DT10, DT20, DMT10-2 and DML402 Distance Measurement Sensors. With these new sensors, customers can now upgrade from simple detection to measurement applications where previously space and budget made it prohibitive. The DT10 combines simple setup with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability? all in an industry standard housing. The DT10 not only indicates that a target is within the user-defined range, but it also indicates where the target is located for greater control. The DT10 line is a proximity-style sensor with a 4mA to 20mA output and a single teachable discrete output.
The DT20 has a longer measurement range (90 - 1000 mm) than the DT10. Its metal housing is also suited for harsher environments. The DT20 proximity-style sensor offers a single pre-scaled 4mA to 20mA analog output and a discrete output within the scaled range. The pre-scaled range is defined by the customer and is set anywhere between 90 mm and 1 m. The sensor also has a swivel connector, which makes mounting easy.
The DMT10-2 and DML40-2 are second-generation distance measurement sensors that offer improved features, such as a longer measurement range, faster response time, an enclosure window mode suppression that ignores anything within 2 m of the sensor, enhanced temperature range and improved setup software.
