Every time a truck backs up, the dock and the truck are at risk of damage if the distance to make contact isn't estimated properly. To eliminate risk, M.S. Foster & Associates Inc. introduces the TEACO Truck Dock Park Assistant (Model DOCK-16). The TEACO DOCK-16 takes the guesswork out of backing up to the dock through use of ultrasonic sensors that monitor the truck's approach. The sensors mount below the lift gate on loading docks or at other locations and can pick up the truck within 16 feet. An LED display then provides a read-out of the distance in feet to the dock or other parking spots. The display's bright, five-inch-high numbers are easily visible at night, in fog or other low-light conditions, according to the company, and the progress of the truck can be easily followed through their vehicles' mirrors.
In locations where the truck does not pull up directly to the wall or dock, but instead makes contact with dock bumpers or other objects, the TEACO DOCK-16 indicator features an offset adjustment of up to three feet to compensate for these protrusions. For example, if a dock wall has a bumper extending six inches out into the driveway, the read-out goes to zero when the truck is detected six inches from the wall.
Easy to install, the TEACO DOCK-16 indicator can be powered directly by building electrical AC or interfaced with all brands of dock control boxes through a coaxial cable.
