FedEx Freight, the less-than-truckload subsidiary of FedEx Corp., has opened five new service centers as part of its strategic expansion. A new 22,000-square-foot facility in New Haven, Conn., replaces an older facility and serves the southern region of Connecticut and parts of New York and Rhode Island. In Avon, Mass., a 32-door facility replaces a 20-door facility to provide delivery to customers in Boston and suburban areas. A new 16,000-square-foot building in Grand Rapids, Mich., covers that city, Lakeshore and western Michigan. In Staunton, Va., a 36-door service center replaces a 10-door building and reaches customers in Charlottesville, Harrisonburg and parts of West Virginia. And a new 17-door facility in Wilmington, N.C., replaces a 10-door building and provides service to the Wilmington metropolitan area and the southeastern portion of North Carolina.
