Dynamic Shipment Management system

Con-Way Transportation Services has made significant upgrades to its Web-based system for alerting its less-than-truckload customers when their shipments may be delayed. The Con-Way Dynamic Shipment Management system monitors every shipment at each leg of the trip and decides if performance is meeting transit time standards. If there is a delay due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, an e-mail is sent to the customer alerting it to the delay. This enables the customer to make necessary adjustments. The system upgrades include additional algorithms that review shipment status and an expanded list of causes for the delays.
