CR2 and CR3 bar-code reader accessories

November 1, 2006
No Comments

Code Corp. has introduced several accessories for its CR2 and CR3 bar-code readers to further enhance use and extend the life of the products when deployed in rugged industrial settings. The accessories include two new handles for high-volume bar-code reading, a 12-foot USB cable to extend reach of cabled readers in production environments; and a new housing for the versatile CodeXML Bluetooth Modem with added connectivity and data security options.

The new H2 cabled handle is designed for rugged, high-volume bar-code reading environments. It features elastomer overmolding and is ergonomically designed for comfortable use in the most demanding cabled applications. While maintaining the Code Reader's modularity and flexibility for many uses, the reader and cable are secured to the handle using the reader's existing battery compartment, with optional security provided by threaded screw inserts in the latest CR2 and CR3 models. The handle provides increased protection to the reader's window and LEDs. The H2 accommodates a lanyard hook option, allowing attachment to a retractable cable or lanyard. It offers an extended trigger life of three million activations.

The BH1 and BH2 Battery Handle products for Bluetooth users share the same rugged design elements as the H2, with a choice in battery capacity: a BH1?1950 mAH lithium ion battery or a BH2?3900 mAH lithium ion battery. Both have "quick release" design elements to easily remove the battery for charging, while maintaining secure connection to the reader while in use.

The new packaging for the CodeXML modem provides mounting features that enhance its modularity, and provides USB Keyboard, PS2 Keyboard, and RS232 (Serial) host communications features.
