MC3090G pistol grip form factor for MC3000 mobile computers

Symbol Technologies has introduced a new pistol grip form factor for its MC3000 family of mobile computers. Named the MC3090G, this new configuration offers customers in the transportation, logistics, retail and other industries increased flexibility and versatility. The MC3000 line of mobile computers will also now include Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 and additional features like 802.11b/g/a WLAN connectivity.

Designed to increase efficiency in scanintensive operations, the MC3090G additionally incorporates the latest Intel XScale processor and is a compact, lightweight, highly ergonomic rugged mobile computer. Applications for the units include retail inventory replenishment, price audits, warehouse shipping and receiving, and other high-scan applications. The computers are also suitable for transportation and logistics workers who require a secure and rugged portable device.

The Windows CE 5.0 computing platform provides fast performance and Web browsing capabilities. Select configurations include a rotating scan head with left, right and front positions to allow the user to adjust the scanning position for increased comfort and productivity. Units in the MC3090 series can be equipped with a Mobility Services Platform (MSP) agent that will collect and monitor device performance information and then deliver status in real time to a centralized Symbol MSP management console.
