Designed for pharmaceutical distribution facilities that have responsibility for destroying unsaleable products, the Model DS-22 disintegrator is designed to destroy expired, off-spec and returned medications. The new disintegrator from Security Engineered Machinery features dual cutting mechanisms to reduce up to 1,800 pounds of waste per hour down to particles as small as 3/32 inch.
The system's first stage is a high-torque, low-RPM shredder, which starts the destruction process by pre-shredding bulk material. The pre-shredded material then enters the second stage, where a high-speed rotary knife mill continues to reduce the waste to the desired particle size. The user determines the size of the end particle by choosing one of several exit screens.
Once the end particle is small enough, it passes through the screen and is evacuated to a twin-bag collection system or dumpster for easy disposal. All DS-22 systems include as standard a variable-speed conveyor for delivery of bulk material to the shredder and a noise-reducing enclosure for quiet operation.
