Wavelink, a developer of multi-vendor mobile application and infrastructure management software, has introduced Terminal Emulation 6.0. This new version of Wavelink emulation features an industrial Web browser that allows for enhanced data collection and communication functions on mobile devices, increasing worker productivity for customers in the Auto-ID and data collection industry. This new product enables organizations to save on the costs of writing and using applications, and to incorporate graphical content into their inventory management for greater productivity.
Using Wavelink's Industrial Browser, staffers can now directly access inventory information from the store and warehouse floor. Hot keys let users toggle back and forth between Webbased and terminal emulation applications. The Wavelink Industrial Browser also offers the Operating System Lockdown feature, which restricts access to only the applications and URLs that management designates. Additional features include out-of-range and roaming support, the capability to manipulate scanned data, custom keyboard mapping, and the ability to provide support for peripheral devices.
