Point Pickup CEO Tom Fiorita Leads Discussion on Carrier Engagement at Home Delivery World

April 15, 2019
No Comments

Point Pickup Technologies, a firm offering a single platform that solves same-day delivery challenges for businesses of all sizes and types, announced that its CEO Tom Fiorita led a roundtable discussion at the recent Home Delivery World, the industry's most important retail logistics conference and exhibition.

The roundtable discussion, titled "Carrier engagement - understanding the differences between the way carriers operate and how we can utilize their strengths," included insights from some of the industry's most knowledgeable thought leaders.

"The last-mile delivery challenge has forced retailers and other businesses to look at new options," said Fiorita. "The last mile has always been highly fragmented. By utilizing a smart platform which can precisely match delivery criteria with the most appropriate member of our diverse driver network, we are able to solve this challenge with a reliable, repeatable and highly scalable service."

Point Pickup's platform, used by some of the top retailers in the U.S., goes beyond the traditional "closest match" approach of last-mile providers with a precision matching platform that finds not just the closest, but the most appropriate driver and vehicle for each delivery. The smart platform standardizes access to every type and size of vehicle, and eliminates many of the unnecessary and costly steps in the complex last-mile delivery supply chain.

Fiorita also joined a logistics panel discussion at the Stifel 2019 Transportation & Logistics Conference in February. Fiorita has been widely quoted in industry publications including CustomerThink, and most recently in the Wall Street Journal offering his insights into solving the biggest last-mile delivery challenges in the industry.

Home Delivery World 2019 conference and exhibition was held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from April 3-5.
