CBRE announced today that it recently completed a 65,126-square-foot lease on behalf of Freelance Enterprises, a manufacturer of premium custom commercial millwork. The location at 5151 Bannock Street is part of the Colorado Trade Center, a 700,000-square-foot industrial complex located near the intersection of I-25 and I-70 in central Denver. Jeremy Ballenger, Tyler Carner and Jessica Ostermick with CBRE Industrial & Logistics Services represented Freelance Enterprises in the lease. CBRE Project Management Services in Denver is facilitating with move management. The company will occupy the space beginning this summer.
"Colorado Trade Center delivered on Freelance Enterprises' desire to stay central—allowing the company to avoid the upcoming I-70 construction and offer a convenient location for their talent base. The property's attributes and functionality were also a great fit for the company's growing needs," said Jeremy Ballenger, Senior Vice President, CBRE Industrial & Logistics.
Founded in Denver in 1992, Freelance Enterprises offers customers a one-stop solution for interior finishes including fabrication, design, engineering and installation services. The company manufactures all of its solid wood, laminate and solid surface products internally and works with suppliers to integrate materials like stone, glass, metal, upholstery and other specialty products. Freelance Enterprises was previously recognized among Inc.'s 5000 fastest-growing private U.S. companies.
"CBRE did an exceptional job of helping us identify a best-in-class facility that kept our workers within less than a mile of our existing location, allowing us to build an elite millwork facility in Denver without disrupting the lives of our employees. CBRE has continued to be a critical partner after the deal, helping drive the buildout of our facility," said Patrick Dickinson, CEO, Freelance Enterprises.
The move to the new location, approximately one mile east of Freelance Enterprises' current site at 1851 West 52nd Avenue, is prompted in part by the company's growth. The commercial building boom taking place across the Front Range is triggering high demand for construction service and materials providers. At the end of the first quarter of 2018, CBRE's research tracked more than 9 million square feet of commercial projects underway across metro Denver's industrial, office and retail sectors.
