FREMONT, CA -- April 5, 2018 -- RK Logistics Group, a Silicon Valley leader in third-party logistics (3PL), announced today that Cindy Traver has been promoted to vice president of operations.

"Cindy has been instrumental in our development, leading our organization's operations through a period of unprecedented growth and expansion," said Rod Kalune, founder and CEO of RK Logistics Group. "This promotion recognizes her strategic contributions to our success and the continued leadership she provides creating value for our customers."

Cindy was previously RK's senior director of operations. As vice president of operations, she today oversees a network of 14 locations in the greater San Francisco Bay Area representing nearly one million square feet of warehousing, with over 700 employees serving over a dozen clients with a broad range of logistics services and solutions.

A seasoned manager with over 20 years of experience in the logistics and transportation industry, Cindy joined RK Logistics in 2015 from Lam Research, a leader in the design, manufacture, marketing and service of semiconductor processing equipment used in the fabrication of integrated circuits. At Lam, she was director of global logistics responsible for strategic design, leadership and day-to-day management of supply chain operations.

Prior to Lam Cindy was the director of transportation for Safeway Inc., one of the largest grocers in the U.S. Her background and skills encompass managing global logistics across all modes of transportation, lean manufacturing and supply chain practices, six sigma and financial accounting.

A privately-held minority business enterprise, Fremont-based RK Logistics Group is a growing local company with over 700 employees. The company operates a network of 14 warehousing centers in the greater San Francisco Bay Area representing nearly 1 million square feet of commercial distribution space for inventory management, manufacturing support and ecommerce fulfillment.

RK is also an industry leader in adopting robotics-assisted order picking and fulfillment technologies, and creating special industry-specific programs, such as sequencing parts into lean production lines at automotive and technology equipment factories, and just-in-time (JIT) deliveries to construction sites.

In addition, RK Logistics is a California Board of Pharmacy-certified 3PL, signifying that the company meets or exceeds state requirements for handling medical devices, controlled substances and sensitive diagnostic equipment for pharmaceutical and high-value biomedical device firms. Only two logistics companies in northern California, 16 in the state, and 35 in the entire U.S. have achieved this distinction.

ABOUT RK LOGISTICS GROUP -- RK Logistics is a premier 3PL provider of full-spectrum, customized supply chain services for the world's most demanding customers. RK's manufacturing support, warehousing, order fulfillment and transportation services feature lean practices, ISO-9001 and CA Board of Pharmacy 3PL Certifications, which is unique to a family-owned business.
