For the 10th consecutive year, the EnerSys (NYSE: ENS) design and manufacturing facility in Warrensburg, Missouri, has received a Gold Award from the Missouri Water Environment Association (MWEA).
The award recognizes organizations that have a water pretreatment or water pollution prevention program in place, a history of cooperative working relationships with the local government entity, publicly owned treatment works, no serious safety deficiencies and 100 percent compliance with wastewater pollutant limitations as well as permit and reporting requirements.
In addition to the Gold Award, the Warrensburg, Missouri, facility received MWEA's Platinum Award, which recognizes organizations that have maintained gold status for five or more years.
"We're extremely proud of the Warrensburg team for its ongoing commitment to operational excellence and compliance," said Randy Reyer, senior director, global EHS, EnerSys. "Year after year, the team is dedicated to ensuring the safe and effective treatment of water and wastewater at the facility."
"The Industrial Wastewater Committee of the Missouri Water Environment Association is honored to present EnerSys with the Gold Pretreatment Award for the 10th consecutive year," said Karla Pierce, industrial wastewater committee chair, MWEA. "This is a great achievement not often observed within the association. This demonstrates that the industry with pretreatment in place has a history of a cooperative working relationship with the Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW), it has not been in significant non-compliance for this period, and it has had no serious deficiencies in safety-related matters as observed by pretreatment inspections. Additionally, during the past 10 years EnerSys was in 100 percent compliance with wastewater pollutant limitations and other wastewater discharge permit requirements, and was in 100 percent compliance with all reporting requirements. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement."
The awards come on the heels of EnerSys earning the 2016 Leaders in Sustainability Award from Call2Recycle, Inc., further demonstrating EnerSys commitment to the environment.
