Cat® Lift Trucks to Award Northbrook High School Senior in Spring Branch ISD With $5,000 Scholarship

HOUSTON (Oct. 27, 2016) - Cat® Lift Trucks, a leading provider of quality and reliable lift trucks, today announced its deadline for applications for the 13th annual Cat Lift Trucks scholarship program. This year, the program will award a Northbrook High School senior in Spring Branch Independent School District (ISD) in Houston with a $5,000 scholarship toward his or her higher education in the state of Texas.

"This is our 13th year to offer the $5,000 scholarship program, and every year we continue to be equally impressed by the high standards and achievements of those students that apply. Scholarship applications will be reviewed and evaluated based on academics, financial need, leadership, community involvement and two narrative essays. Students must plan to attend an accredited college, university or technical school within the state of Texas in the fall of 2017 and major in engineering or a business-related field or a technical field related to our business.

The scholarship recipient will be formally awarded the funds during a reception in March 2017 at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™, where Cat Lift Trucks has served as the Official Lift Truck Provider for 13 consecutive years.

WHAT: Cat Lift Trucks will award a high school senior at Northbrook High School in Spring Branch ISD with a $5,000 scholarship for higher education pursuits. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college, university or technical school within the state of Texas in the fall of 2017 and major in engineering or a business-related field or a technical field related to our business.

Graduating seniors from Northbrook High School are eligible to apply. Recipients will be chosen based on academic record, financial need, leadership, honors, narrative responses and participation in school and community activities.

WHEN: Deadline - applications must be postmarked by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017. This year's scholarship recipient will be honored at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in March 2017.
