LEXINGTON, S.C. (July 27, 2016) - Southeastern Freight Lines, the leading provider of regional less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation services, is celebrating 40 years of quality without question service from its Albany, Georgia, service center this July.
Located at 1115 Centennial Avenue, the Albany service center originally opened for business in July of 1976. It currently features 43 dock doors and employs 46 associates.
The service center is also celebrating the anniversaries of five team members, each serving more than 30 years with Southeastern Freight Lines: John Wilson, pick-up and delivery driver; Thomas Swords, linehaul driver; Phil Macolly, outbound supervisor; Mark Horne, inbound supervisor; and Gary Bailey, fleet service manager.
"Four decades ago, the Albany service center opened its doors and brought a new culture of trucking to the region," said David Toren, service center manager, Southeastern Freight Lines. "The Albany service center has experienced tremendous growth since 1976, currently employing more than nine times the original five employees. Our growing workforce serves as a testament to the commitment of our team to provide continued quality without question service to our customers year after year."
The Albany service center was the ninth service center opened by Southeastern Freight Lines since its founding in 1950. Since then, the company operates 88 service centers spanning 14 states, Canada and Puerto Rico and has undergone numerous upgrades in trucks and trucking technologies.
