Rich Hamilton Joins Cushman & Wakefield to Head 3PL Specialty Practice

May 9, 2016
No Comments

Rich Hamilton has joined Cushman & Wakefield as managing director and head of the commercial real estate services firm's newly formed 3PL Logistics Specialty Practice Group. He is based in the company's Rosemont office, which serves as the home base for its Americas Logistics & Industrial Services team.

A resident of St. Charles, Ill., Hamilton brings a diverse professional background in manufacturing and supply chain, third-party logistics, and industrial real estate - most recently serving as Prologis' first vice president, Global Customer Solutions. In his new role, Hamilton is teaming with Cushman & Wakefield's industrial brokers, research and strategic consulting professionals and other special practice groups to provide facility and real estate advisory services for third-party logistics providers.

"Rich is an excellent addition to both our Chicago and U.S. Industrial teams," noted John Morris, executive managing director of Americas Logistics & Industrial Services. "His position, his experiences and his relationships - especially in the 3PL business - will bring new opportunities and new relationships to this growing area of focus within Cushman & Wakefield's national industrial platform."

Hamilton joined Prologis in 2005 and specialized in the third-party logistics sector, as well as occupiers in the manufacturing, retail and consumer goods industries. He managed a portfolio of 40 clients with annual revenue in excess of $100 million. He also served as the company's primary liaison with the third-party logistics industry and coordinated its annual 3PL Executive Roundtable.

"Third-party logistics organizations and their underlying users - retailers, manufacturers and service providers - represent a substantial vertical within the occupier community," Hamilton said. "Our goal is to help them identify the best real estate solutions and develop real estate strategies that serve to optimize their supply chains. During my time on the developer side of the business, I was deeply impressed with the quality and approach Cushman & Wakefield employs in serving customer needs. Joining the industrial practice here was an obvious choice - one that will ensure my clients are working with the best team in the industry."

Hamilton's experience also includes past positions of increasing responsibility in supply chain and logistics with Nestle. He held senior management roles in sales, marketing and strategic account management with Chicago-based DSC Logistics as well. Hamilton earned the MCR designation from CORENET, and is a CCIM candidate and a licensed broker in the State of Illinois.

Cushman & Wakefield's industrial brokerage platform provides global resources and local expertise for tenant and landlord representation, disposition and acquisition services, transaction management, and industrial consulting including labor and demographic analysis. In 2014 globally, this group completed more than 8,200 industrial lease and sale transactions, including Capital Markets transactions, totaling nearly 337 million square feet with an aggregate value in excess of $16.8 billion.
