Material handling equipment provider Rite-Hite showcased its new vehicle restraint, the Dok-Lok SHR-5000, during ProMat 2019.
The restraint uses a patented "shadow hook," which provides an additional layer of safety when dealing with rear-impact guard obstructions, the company said. The restraint is also designed to secure traditional trailers and intermodal container chassis. The universal design targets the evolving needs of the loading dock as well as a rise in intermodal container traffic.
Rite-Hite also highlighted several other new and recently released products on the first day of the ProMat show, including its Dok-Commander system, which integrates multiple pieces of loading dock equipment into one centralized control unit. The product now includes a real-time trailer presence monitor, called Lok-Vu, that provides a camera view of the exterior vehicle restraint and also lets users see when engagement with a trailer's rear impact guard takes place.
Rite-Hite had some of its industrial fans on display as well, including a direct-drive fan that is noiseless and uses no oil, and is ideal for applications such as food and pharmaceutical operations, the company said. Its Coolman 2800 trailer fan with LED lighting is a new product designed for use in large trailers and containers, and is well-suited for e-commerce operations, package handling, and any customers importing products for U.S. distribution, the company said.
